Role overview
This is a remote, hourly contract opportunity for a STEM research specialist supporting advanced large language model initiatives. The work is flexible and project-based, with ongoing continuity possible depending on needs.
What you’ll do
- Design difficult, domain-specific questions and technical content used in model training workflows.
- Bring subject-matter knowledge from areas such as healthcare, statistics, data science, machine learning research, computer science, game development, or mechanical/aerospace engineering.
- Partner with frontier research teams on high-impact model training and evaluation work.
- Help improve reasoning quality, technical depth, and domain understanding in model capabilities.
- Work independently in a structured remote research setting while following evaluation guidelines.
What we’re looking for
- Strong expertise in one or more STEM disciplines, such as medicine, AI/ML, data science, computer science, game development, or engineering.
- The ability to create complex domain problems and produce accurate technical material for training use.
- Excellent analytical ability and a sharp eye for technical precision.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for explaining difficult ideas simply and accurately.
- Advanced academic training or comparable industry experience in a STEM field.
- Confidence working on your own in a fast-moving remote environment.
Compensation and work model
This role pays an hourly rate of USD 55 to USD 80. Payments are made weekly through Stripe or Wise. The engagement is as an independent contractor, with flexible scheduling.
