Job Purpose
The Sterilization Attendant supports safe and efficient infection-control practices within the dental clinics by ensuring instruments and devices are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for daily clinical use.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle the sterilization workflow for instruments and devices.
- Support the decontamination process for instruments within the department.
- Help replenish supplies so the department can operate without interruption.
- Receive, dismantle, and clean contaminated equipment in line with clinic standards and approved protocols to maintain sterility for instruments delivered to the Dental Hospital.
- Follow infection-control standards and help maintain a safe, healthy workplace.
- Dispose of waste, chemicals, and hazardous materials in a safe and compliant manner.
- Adhere to environmental safety and infection-control precautions designed to reduce or prevent cross-contamination.
- Report equipment faults and any changes in sterilization parameters to support a safe process.
- Maintain process records in the system to monitor sterilization activities and equipment performance.
- Work in accordance with quality assurance and patient safety standards to support best-practice care delivery.
- Escalate material shortages to the Senior Sterilization Attendant promptly.
- Apply procedures that reduce iatrogenic and occupational risks associated with dental practice.
- Assist with monthly departmental reporting when needed.
- Take part in health campaigns, medical events, and CSR activities, both internally and externally, whenever required.
Qualifications
Candidates must have successfully completed a Sterilization Certificate from an institution recognized by Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
Experience
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in sterilization and infection control is required.
