What you will do

  • Own the full recruitment cycle, from posting roles and reviewing resumes to arranging interviews, preparing interview guides, and supporting candidate selection in line with policy.
  • Work with Talent Acquisition Specialists on sourcing efforts and contribute to the broader recruitment strategy.
  • Create structured behavioral interview guides and help ensure hiring remains fair, consistent, and compliant with applicable legislation.
  • Coordinate pre-employment steps such as medicals, police checks, and skills or aptitude assessments.
  • Draft and issue job offers and contracts, and assist hiring managers with negotiation discussions within policy limits.
  • Keep candidate information accurate and manage recruiting activity in the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Maintain regular communication with candidates and hiring managers to support a positive hiring experience.
  • Assist with onboarding tasks such as new hire paperwork, orientation scheduling, and first-day preparation.
  • Support employer branding efforts and the organization’s employee value proposition through approved communication channels, including social media.
  • Answer recruitment-related questions and partner with HR colleagues to resolve more complex matters.
  • Track recruitment activity and provide updates on competition progress.
  • Look for opportunities to improve recruitment processes and the candidate journey.
  • Help with HR data administration alongside HRIS, including new hire setup, employee updates, and other employment transactions.

What you need

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • CHRP or CHRL certification, or active progress toward one, is an asset.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a high-volume recruitment environment.
  • Unionized workplace experience and familiarity with collective agreements are considered beneficial.
  • Strong ability to source, screen, interview, and assess candidates.
  • Comfort using ATS platforms, recruitment software, and Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Good knowledge of employment legislation, recruitment best practices, and current industry trends.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with candidates, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong judgment and the ability to handle confidential information carefully.
  • Negotiation skills to support offer conversations with candidates.
  • Well organized, able to balance multiple priorities, and effective in a fast-paced setting.
  • Collaborative, flexible, solution-oriented, and attentive to detail.
  • A valid G driver’s licence and the ability to travel as needed.
  • Bilingual ability is an asset.
