Utility/Dishwasher Worker

Role Overview

SSP America is hiring Utility/Dishwasher Workers in Kelowna, British Columbia. This role is essential in keeping restaurant and unit areas clean, sanitary, and ready for both guests and team members.

Pay and Schedule

• Hourly pay is $14.00, plus shared tips.
• Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

Key Duties

• Support a positive guest experience by keeping work areas clean and hygienic.
• Clean and maintain floors, ceiling tiles, walls, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, storage areas, and other surfaces or equipment.
• Remove waste and take it to the proper disposal area.
• Clear tables between guests and carry service ware to the kitchen for washing.
• Scrape, wash, and store dishes, pots, and pans by hand or with a dishwasher.
• Use approved cleaning chemicals and equipment to meet sanitation standards.
• Help guests with special requests and pass along any special needs to servers or supervisors.
• Load and unload supply trucks and move items between storage and work areas.
• Stock inventory, label and rotate products, and check food temperatures.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

• Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
• At least 6 months of experience in retail or food service is required.
• High school education is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English well enough to communicate with guests and follow instructions.
• Prior experience handling guest service issues is important.
• A food handler permit is required where mandated by law.
• Brand certification must be obtained when required.
• Must be able to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods.
