Описание работы
Role overview
This opening is for a 3D Modeler based in Orlando, Florida, supporting a high-fidelity vehicle modeling contract for the ACC ISR project. The role focuses on producing precise 3D representations that feed into virtual simulation and training environments, with some work tied to research in digital real-world replication using image generators, game engines, and related tools.
The position involves improving older workflows and assets to meet current game-engine standards and technical expectations. It is a hands-on, collaborative role in which you will work across disciplines, adapt to different platform needs, and help solve complex production challenges in a fast-moving setting.
Primary responsibilities
- Create optimized hard-surface 3D assets that match project requirements and quality standards.
- Work alongside other modelers and cross-functional teams to prepare assets for animation, static rendering, and real-time deployment.
- Develop textures and surface details that align with the intended look and remain usable across platforms.
- Validate models inside target engines or rendering tools to confirm correct scale, topology, visual style, and overall functionality.
- Keep modeling workflows documented and asset versions well organized.
- Refine models through repeated review cycles based on input from technical leadership and clients.
Required qualifications
- A bachelor's degree plus at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- A strong portfolio showing clean topology, efficient UV layouts, high-quality textures, realistic non-stylized object representation, and close attention to detail.
- Working proficiency with at least one major 3D modeling software package.
- Good knowledge of PBR pipelines, texturing software such as Substance Suite, Mari, and Photoshop, and geometry optimization.
- Ability to turn technical references, scan data, or photos into accurate 3D assets.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working in an iterative review process.
- Experience with real-time engines such as Unreal or Unity and game asset workflows.
- Basic rigging knowledge.
- Experience building modular kits and using trim sheets.
Preferred experience
- Background in organic modeling.
- Familiarity with photogrammetry or LiDAR cleanup workflows.
- Exposure to scripting in Python, MEL, or Actionscripts for repetitive task automation.
- Experience in shooting, compositing, and editing video content.
- Experience producing motion graphics for animation or marketing materials.
- Experience working with imagery, elevation data, and vector data in geospatial tools such as Global Mapper, QGIS, or ArcGIS.
Compensation and benefits
The posted salary range is $69,550 to $125,725 per year. Final compensation may vary based on responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, market data, bargaining agreement terms if applicable, and other legal or business factors.
Benefits mentioned for this role include competitive pay, health and wellness programs, income protection, paid leave, and retirement support.
