About BeeX

BeeX develops advanced hovering autonomous underwater vehicles (HAUVs) and applies autonomous robotics to protect underwater infrastructure across maritime, energy, and defense environments. The company focuses on delivering robotics as a service at global scale, drawing on long-standing experience operating in difficult water conditions. Its mission is to give customers a single solution for managing asset integrity and keeping critical assets protected.

Why You May Want to Join

BeeX is working on new solutions for sectors that need better ways to solve long-standing challenges. Because the work is highly innovative, the team is looking for people who can thrive in complex, fast-moving settings and contribute meaningfully to global progress.

The workplace is collaborative and multidisciplinary. Team members are expected to take initiative, grow through responsibility, and gain exposure to deeptech work across both technical design and commercial rollout. The role also involves a mix of office work and sea trials, so comfort in both environments is important. The position reports directly to the Sustaining Lead.

Role Overview

In this position, you will support the upkeep, diagnosis, repair, and continuous improvement of vehicle systems. Your work will span field support, workshop repairs, testing, documentation, and collaboration with engineering teams to improve reliability and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and systems issues across vehicle subsystems in both field and workshop settings, including power systems, motor drives, sensors, electronics, data links, and chassis components.
  • Repair vehicle systems by dismantling affected assemblies and replacing, reworking, or restoring parts such as pressure hulls, thrusters, PCB assemblies, and wire harnesses.
  • Validate repaired units through functional checks, environmental tests, and sea trials before returning them to service.
  • Investigate repeated failures using root cause analysis, record the outcomes, and help implement corrective actions to stop problems from returning.
  • Provide technical support to operators in the field, including remote troubleshooting and step-by-step guidance for live issues.
  • Partner with the engineering team by sharing field observations, identifying maintainability gaps, and contributing to ongoing reliability improvements.
  • Keep maintenance records accurate and up to date, including fault logs, repair notes, service guides, and fleet history.
  • Create and improve documentation for troubleshooting workflows and repair procedures for both on-site response and deeper workshop work.

What You Need

  • A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • About 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in technical maintenance, field engineering, or systems integration; experience with marine or robotics systems is an advantage.
  • Practical ability to troubleshoot electrical issues using tools such as a multimeter, oscilloscope, and bench power supply at both component and system level.
  • Working knowledge of software diagnostics, including reading logs, using SSH and command-line tools, and applying firmware updates; ROS or ROS2 experience is a plus.
  • Strong repair and rework skills, including electronics assembly, soldering, crimping, and wire harness work.
  • Exposure to battery systems is beneficial.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • A self-motivated, reliable approach with strong ownership from problem identification through to closure.
  • Clear written communication skills for preparing fault reports, SOPs, and handover notes independently.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive market-aligned salary.
  • Career growth based on your direct contribution and impact.
  • ESOP or equity participation.
  • Healthcare support.
  • Access to industry events.
  • Office pantry stocked with snacks.
  • Support for upskilling and learning credits.

Preparation Before Interview

  • Be ready to share a testimonial from one engineer you have worked with.
  • Prepare a PCB design from a previous project.

Additional Information

This role expects frequent interaction with a multidisciplinary team and a willingness to work both at sea during trials and in a normal office setting. The company values independence, initiative, and direct responsibility rather than a rigid corporate ladder.
