Cashier

Overview

This full-time cashier role is based at Petro-Canada in Peace River, Alberta. The position is carried out entirely at the workplace, so remote work is not available.

Languages

English fluency is required.

Education

No degree, certificate, or diploma is needed for this role.

Experience

Training will be provided on the job.

Responsibilities

• Handle transactions using the cash register.
• Scan products accurately at checkout.
• Accept payments for merchandise and services.
• Count daily or shift cash receipts and match them against total sales.
• Keep shelves stocked and maintain a clean counter area.
• Welcome customers and provide courteous service.
• Bag or package purchased items for customers.
• Weigh produce and bulk food items when needed.
• Support shoppers with self-checkout machines.
• Watch entry and exit points and ask for proof of payment when appropriate.
• Take part in promotions and in-store marketing activities.
• Check customer age when selling lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco products.
