Role summary
This is a full-time exempt staff role at TCAT Shelbyville that blends project coordination and classroom teaching. The position supports the President with special initiatives while also delivering Technology Foundations instruction to high school and adult learners across Shelbyville, Winchester, and Fayetteville.
Work schedule and location
The job is based across multiple campuses in Tennessee: Shelbyville, Winchester, and Fayetteville. Regular travel between these locations is required, and assignments may shift depending on project and instructional needs. Standard daytime hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a minimum schedule of 37.5 hours per week. Two evening teaching shifts each week are part of the role, and the schedule is adjusted to stay within the weekly hours limit.
Compensation
The annual salary range is $42,353 to $55,065, with final pay determined by education and experience.
Project coordination duties
About 60% of the role is devoted to coordinating institutional projects and supporting campus leadership. This includes building timelines, tracking deliverables, monitoring progress, reporting updates to stakeholders, and making sure tasks move forward smoothly. The role also involves collecting and analyzing data, preparing reports, assisting with grant paperwork, tracking expenditures, and helping ensure compliance. Additional work may include special events, accreditation efforts, student success initiatives, process improvement projects, audits, and collaboration on college-wide partnerships.
Instructional duties
The remaining 40% focuses on teaching Technology Foundations. Instruction is provided to both adult learners and high school students, with emphasis on computer applications, digital literacy, and interpreting data. The role also requires administering and reviewing assessments, monitoring student progress, keeping records accurate, supporting retention and completion, updating course materials, and taking part in curriculum revisions. Ongoing professional development and current certifications are expected.
