Data Scientist

About the Role

In this position, you will work on demanding analytical challenges with scientists and engineers who encourage fresh thinking, exchange expertise, and team up on high-impact initiatives. Your work will focus on building practical solutions for complex real-world problems through data, creativity, and disciplined investigation.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently investigate diverse real-world datasets and form testable hypotheses.
• Review relevant research and academic literature to apply advanced approaches for identifying meaningful patterns in data.
• Work closely with engineers and business stakeholders to evaluate ideas thoroughly and validate conclusions.
• Participate in the academic and research community through reading groups and seminars to stay current with emerging methods.

Qualifications

• At least 1 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in applied data analysis and predictive work, ideally within an industry environment.
• A degree in a quantitative or technical field such as statistics, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or computer science.
• Strong working knowledge of Python and SQL.
• Experience leading or contributing to deep research projects involving real-world datasets.
• Ability to work independently, think creatively about analysis, and explain complex ideas clearly.
• Prior finance experience is not mandatory; strong research capability is the key requirement.

Compensation

The base salary for this position is expected to range from $165,000 to $300,000. The role may also include additional compensation and benefits such as discretionary bonuses, health and wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions. Discretionary bonus can make up a meaningful share of total earnings. Final pay will depend on experience, skills, qualifications, and overall fit.

The expected total annual compensation for roles filled through this posting is $200,000 to $650,000, which may include base pay, incentive compensation, equity, commissions, bonuses, and other applicable forms of pay.
