Role Overview

The Design Assistant will support the design team across concept development, research, presentation creation, sample organization, fittings, and product development. This role requires a strong eye for detail, an appreciation for luxury fashion, and the ability to help maintain the integrity of the original design vision through each stage of the process.

Responsibilities

• Support the design team in building seasonal ideas, including color direction and fabric/trim selections.
• Research inspiration sources, market trends, seasonal themes, materials, and silhouettes, especially within luxury eveningwear and couture.
• Prepare polished digital decks and physical mood boards that communicate design concepts clearly.
• Work with Technical Design to develop flats and help carry concepts from initial development through to finished product.
• Take part in fittings as directed by the design team.
• Help ensure production output aligns with the intended design direction and scheduled timelines.
• Assist with CADs, colorways, and updates to collection tracking documents.
• Sort and maintain fabric swatches, trims, embellishments, and reference materials.
• Track sample progress and keep sample organization up to date.
• Prepare supporting materials for communication with ateliers and factories.
• Help create line sheets and manage seasonal collection organization.
• Keep design files orderly and assist with monitoring product development schedules.
• Support photoshoot preparation when required.
• Assist with preparing and documenting PR sendouts requested for VIPs.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in luxury or contemporary womenswear design.
• Hands-on experience or focus in eveningwear and couture design.
• Strong precision and a refined eye for color, fabric, and embellishment.
• Working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, PLM platforms, and fashion-focused AI tools.
• Solid sketching and illustration ability.
• Good communication skills and strong personal organization.
• Team-oriented mindset with genuine enthusiasm for fashion and design trends.
• Knowledge of garment construction, sourcing fabrics, and selecting trims.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design.
