Employment details

• Salary range: £40,000 to £50,000 depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Build and wire electrical enclosures, control assemblies, and equipment using technical drawings and schematics.
• Accurately interpret wiring diagrams, models, and bills of materials.
• Route and terminate cables to the required standard and best practice.
• Perform basic electrical checks such as continuity and insulation testing to confirm workmanship.
• Spot build issues, defects, and non-conformances, then escalate them appropriately.
• Work to agreed quality standards and production targets.
• Keep the workspace organised and tidy in line with 5S principles.
• Follow company procedures and statutory safety requirements at all times.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that raise efficiency, quality, and safety.

Quality and standards

• Experience working to IPC 620, or holding IPC 620 qualification.
• Strong focus on right-first-time output.
• Ability to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines.
• Consistent compliance with safety procedures.
• High accuracy in wiring and assembly tasks.
• Willingness to support team performance and problem-solving.

Essential experience and skills

• Background in electrical wiring, panel wiring, or assembly.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving, collaborative engineering environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Basic understanding of electrical principles and components.
• Capability to work independently as well as within a team.

Desirable experience

• Apprenticeship or other relevant electrical qualification.
• Previous experience in manufacturing or engineering.
• Familiarity with industry standards.
• Experience using electrical testing equipment.

Eligibility and security requirements

Applicants must be able to satisfy the security standards required for the role. This includes, as a minimum, the existing right to live and work in the UK and BPSS clearance. Some positions may also require UK National security clearance.
