Housekeeping Supervisor

Position Summary

This role oversees room and area inspections after housekeeping work is completed to confirm that cleanliness and presentation meet required standards. The supervisor reviews sold room reports, checks room status, identifies any mismatches, prioritizes rooms that need attention, and updates the condition of departing rooms. The position also supports housekeeping leadership with day-to-day operations and serves as a coordination point between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry.

The job includes documenting and resolving room-status issues with the Front Desk, preparing and sharing room assignment updates, communicating handover details to the next shift, and completing required paperwork.

Leadership and Team Support

The supervisor assists management with hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, discipline, and employee motivation and coaching.

Work Standards and Safety

The role requires following company policies and safety/security procedures, reporting maintenance concerns, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries, and completing mandatory safety training and certifications. Professional appearance, confidentiality, and protection of company property are expected at all times.

Guest Service

Guest interaction is an important part of the role. The supervisor is expected to greet guests in line with company standards, respond to service needs in a proactive way, support guests with disabilities, and thank guests sincerely. Clear, professional communication and strong working relationships with colleagues are essential.

Physical and Technical Requirements

The position involves regular physical activity, including lifting, carrying, moving, and placing items up to 55 pounds without assistance and more than 55 pounds with assistance. It also requires pushing and pulling loaded housekeeping carts and other equipment over uneven or sloped surfaces, reaching above and below the knees, bending, twisting, stooping, and standing, sitting, kneeling, or walking for long periods during the full work shift. The job also calls for handling objects of different sizes and weights with precision and coordination, using computers or point-of-sale systems to enter and locate information, and reading details in a variety of formats including small print.

Preferred Qualification
