• Work schedule: Monday through Sunday

Role summary

The janitor will handle general cleaning and preservation duties across one building or multiple client locations. Since the exact work can vary by client needs, the person in this role must be comfortable adapting to changing tasks and following site-specific instructions.

Responsibilities

• Keep floors in good condition by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming as needed.
• Use cleaning chemicals and powered equipment safely to avoid damaging surfaces or fixtures.
• Service restrooms, meeting rooms, hallways, and entry areas by cleaning and monitoring them regularly.
• Collect and dispose of trash properly, including using a compactor for designated materials.
• Wash windows, glass dividers, and mirrors with suitable tools and cleaning products.
• Perform spot cleaning on carpets and assist with shampooing and extraction work when required.
• Refill paper goods and sanitary supplies to keep facilities stocked.
• Work according to the assigned housekeeping schedule.
• Operate heavier cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers when needed.
• Take on additional tasks based on the scope of work or customer requirements.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required, or at least 6 months of experience in a janitorial role.
• Willingness to learn on the job, as training will be provided.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions effectively.
• Previous cleaning or janitorial experience is preferred.
• Helpful knowledge of custodial routines and commercial cleaning standards.
• Experience with floor care methods such as buffing and waxing is an advantage.
• Background in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance is beneficial.
