Role overview

SSC Services for Education is looking to hire full-time Janitors for the Quakertown School District in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. This role supports clean, safe, and distraction-free learning spaces for students, staff, and visitors. Openings may also be available at other locations within the school district.

Schedule

The position follows a full-time Monday through Friday schedule from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. More specifics may be shared during the interview. Full-time and part-time options with flexible scheduling needs may also be considered.

Compensation

The pay rate for this role is fixed at $17.50 per hour.

What the role involves

The janitor is responsible for maintaining orderly and hygienic facilities. Work includes heavy-duty cleaning tasks such as floor care, rug shampooing, wall and glass cleaning, and trash removal. The job also requires following approved cleaning practices, infection control procedures, and applicable federal, state, and county regulations.

Key duties

• Remove and dispose of trash in line with approved procedures and infection control standards.
• Dust and wet-mop floors using the required process.
• Move equipment and furniture as needed for cleaning, then return items to their proper places.
• Clean assigned spaces using designated supplies and equipment, including sanitizing surfaces and following the eight-step cleaning process.
• Clean walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other surfaces to help maintain a safe and orderly environment.
• Look for areas that need cleaning and take initiative to complete the work without waiting to be told.
• Complete tasks assigned by a supervisor.
• Perform work in accordance with all relevant federal, state, and county guidelines.
• Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors, and shampoo carpets when needed.
• Work cooperatively with the team and maintain professionalism with customers, coworkers, and others.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Experience and requirements

Prior janitorial experience is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates should be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Certain positions may require Florida Level 2 background screening.
