Role Overview
TRADER is hiring a Junior User Support Engineer to join its IT team on a 6-month contract. This position is based in Toronto and follows a hybrid schedule, with 3 to 4 days per week in the office.
In this position, you will gain practical experience supporting internal employees while building your technical and customer service capabilities. You will work alongside experienced IT and engineering colleagues to diagnose issues, follow established best practices, and help deliver a positive user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver courteous and timely technical help to users both in person and remotely.
- Support IT incident management, service requests, and general user questions.
- Assist with installing, configuring, and supporting Windows and macOS laptops, mobile devices, and applications.
- Develop skills in tracking, prioritizing, and managing support tickets according to service-level expectations.
- Record issues, fixes, and status updates in the service management platform.
- Work with IT team members to resolve technical problems and escalate issues when needed.
- Help create, revise, and maintain support articles and user guides.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding tasks such as device preparation and account access setup.
- Adhere to IT security standards, policies, and recommended practices.
- Offer basic user guidance and look for ways to improve how people use IT tools.
Candidate Profile
- You are currently enrolled in, or have recently finished, a diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- You have a basic working knowledge of Windows and/or macOS environments.
- You understand computer hardware and mobile devices at a foundational level.
- You have some exposure to Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Experience with collaboration platforms such as Zoom is considered an advantage.
- You are interested in learning about Active Directory, Okta, and broader IT systems.
- You communicate well and bring a strong customer-focused approach.
- You are eager to learn, take initiative, and ask thoughtful questions.
- You are organized and able to solve problems effectively.
- You are curious about AI and emerging technologies, including how AI tools can improve productivity, support IT operations, and enable automation ideas.

Compensation
