Role overview
The company is hiring a mechanical engineer to develop new systems and parts for AI-enabled robots. The position involves building detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to align mechanical elements with electrical and software components, carrying out simulation and test work, and improving designs for cost, efficiency, and production readiness.
Key responsibilities
- Develop mechanical assemblies and components for AI-powered robotic systems.
- Produce precise 3D CAD models and fabrication-ready technical drawings.
- Partner with engineering teams to integrate mechanical parts smoothly with electrical and software systems.
- Refine designs to improve affordability, performance, and ease of manufacture.
- Be available for travel for approximately 25% of the time.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in robotics or automation.
- Experience with industrial design or special-purpose machinery is considered an advantage.
- Ability to use CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or comparable tools.
- Practical understanding of mechanical testing and prototyping workflows.
- Strong grasp of material behavior, manufacturing techniques, and system-level integration.
