Role overview

Connor, Clark & Lunn Private Capital Ltd. is hiring an Operations Analyst to join its Operations & Technology team on a 15-month contract in Toronto. In this role, you will support the everyday flow of investment operations, help resolve system and data-related problems, and contribute to improving processes. The position offers close collaboration with experienced colleagues in a team-oriented setting while you strengthen both technical and business capabilities.

Operational support and daily work

  • Act as a first contact for routine questions, sort incoming issues, and pass more complex matters to senior team members when needed.
  • Record, monitor, and organize JIRA tickets by gathering details and escalating items to keep resolution moving.
  • Support data-quality tasks by following written procedures, completing basic checks, and helping maintain simple audit records.
  • Assist with workflow and process updates by documenting current steps, proposing practical improvements, and testing changes with team guidance.
  • Help maintain audit readiness by arranging files, reconciling standard data items, and ensuring documentation stays complete and easy to retrieve.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for system enhancements, maintenance, and testing activities, including scheduling, checklist management, and progress updates.
  • Apply approved updates to forms, filing structures, business rules, and workflows while documenting what has changed.
  • Investigate data integrity concerns by reproducing issues, collecting examples, and tracking follow-up actions through closure.
  • Support client-facing platforms by troubleshooting access and data issues, recording findings, and assisting with requirements gathering for future improvements.

Projects and strategic initiatives

  • Assist with projects by gathering requirements, updating trackers, and surfacing risks or dependencies to the project lead.
  • Work with teammates to perform analyses, verify results, and turn findings into clear messages for stakeholders.
  • Support project delivery through stakeholder communication, meeting coordination, and follow-up actions.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation such as requirement notes, plans, and meeting minutes.
  • Help test system and process changes by following test scripts, capturing evidence, and recording results and defects.

What makes you a fit

  • You enjoy structured problem-solving, asking thoughtful questions, and using evidence to understand issues.
  • You communicate clearly, collaborate well, and can partner effectively with teammates and stakeholders.
  • You take initiative, stay organized, and follow through on assigned tasks without needing constant direction.
  • You have a continuous-improvement mindset and look for ways to make routine work more efficient and consistent.
  • You are comfortable working with data, have strong Excel skills, and have some exposure to SQL and/or Python through school, projects, or internships/co-ops.
  • Familiarity with Power BI and/or Power Automate is considered an advantage, along with an interest in data visualization and automation.
  • You hold an undergraduate university degree, ideally in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Statistics.
  • Experience in financial services for 0 to 2 years is an asset, including internship or co-op experience.
