Overview
BSI is seeking a Product Certification Auditor to support product excellence across certification programmes in Ireland and Northern Ireland. This field-based role involves carrying out product certification assessments in a range of settings and ensuring alignment with BSI certification requirements and Kitemark standards. The position is well suited to someone with either audit experience or practical exposure to standards compliance in manufacturing environments.
This is an opportunity to join a globally recognised standards and certification organisation as it marks 125 years of impact. The role contributes to product compliance, trust, and quality across schemes covering Structural Steel (EN 1090), Concrete, Aggregates, and Construction Products (CPR).
Location and travel
This is a field-based position for Ireland or Northern Ireland, with extensive travel required. Audit coverage may also extend across Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the United Kingdom.
Key duties
The auditor will plan and perform assessments, communicate results clearly to clients, and help maintain strong working relationships across assigned accounts. The role also includes coordinating with internal support teams, managing records accurately, and supporting the development of less experienced colleagues.
Candidate profile
BSI is looking for candidates with a solid manufacturing background, particularly in quality management or product certification. Prior exposure to product assessment or auditing against standards is important, and knowledge of ISO 9001 auditing practices is highly relevant. The company is willing to support successful candidates through an onboarding pathway that leads toward Lead Assessor status.
Compensation and benefits
The role offers a competitive base salary that depends on experience, along with a company car and bonus. BSI also provides a broader reward package that includes flexible working hours, ongoing learning and development, an annual bonus, a company vehicle, a pension scheme, and private health cover.
About BSI
BSI is a global business improvement and standards organisation with a long history of helping organisations improve performance, strengthen safety, and build trust. The company works with clients in many countries and across sectors such as automotive, aerospace, built environment, food and retail, and healthcare. BSI is committed to client focus, agility, collaboration, and equal opportunity in a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Additional information
Applicants must be willing to undergo an extensive onboarding plan in order to reach Lead Assessor status, based on their existing knowledge, skills, experience, and scheme requirements. Candidates should also be comfortable preparing for and completing standardised assessments linked to audit practice.
Account responsibility includes managing assigned clients according to location, qualifications, and contract needs, as well as arranging visits, planning assessments, organising travel, completing audits, and reporting outcomes efficiently.
BSI’s purpose is to create positive change for people and the planet, and this role supports that mission through product certification and compliance work.
Terms and conditions
Salary is described as competitive and experience-based; no fixed figure is provided. The position requires frequent travel and may involve a broad audit territory across Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the United Kingdom.
