About the Role

The Program Lead, Climate will guide MIT Solve’s climate and sustainability portfolio within Global Programs. This role owns the planning and delivery of annual Global Challenges as well as tailored challenge programs created with external clients. The position is also responsible for defining challenge approaches, recruiting and coordinating expert judges, assessing submitted solutions, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

In addition, the role serves as the internal climate and sustainability specialist for Solve. It supports community engagement by creating partnerships and representing the organization at important events, gatherings, and networks, including activities connected to MIT.

Responsibilities

  • Design challenge strategy and ensure programs are structured for strong outcomes.
  • Identify, engage, and coordinate subject-matter expert judges.
  • Review and evaluate proposed solutions submitted through the challenge process.
  • Build and manage productive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Act as the program’s climate and sustainability expert.
  • Expand community engagement through partnerships, events, convenings, and network participation across MIT and beyond.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in project management, partnerships, business development, or fundraising.
  • Experience should be gained in social impact, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.
  • Strong working knowledge of climate and sustainability topics.
