About the Role

This permanent Relationship Manager position is based in Ashburton, Canterbury. You will manage and expand a portfolio of customers by building trusted, enduring relationships and shaping banking solutions that fit their needs. Working Arrangements

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and expand profitable relationships across a business customer portfolio.
  • Develop a strong understanding of each customer’s business needs and deliver proactive solutions for both current priorities and future plans.
  • Promote relevant value-added resources, workshops, and specialist assistance from both internal and external sources.
  • Support portfolio growth while maintaining trusted relationships with long-term clients.
  • Strengthen ANZ Business’s market presence through networking and a clear, compelling value proposition.
  • Work closely with colleagues across Business and the wider bank to help customers achieve ongoing growth and success.
  • Deliver consistently high-quality service that deepens relationships and expands professional networks.

Experience and Skills

  • Background in relationship management, business development, or portfolio/account management.
  • Experience in banking, finance, or accounting is helpful, though not essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Well-developed networking ability to create and maintain customer relationships and grow portfolios.
  • Strong communication and people skills, with the confidence to build trust and influence stakeholders.
