Research Assistant

Overview

Singapore Institute of Technology’s Health and Social Sciences division is hiring a Research Assistant for a fixed-term research project. The role supports the study titled Integrative Neuro-social cognitive Strategy Programme for Instilling REcovery (INSPIRE): a Community-Based Cognitive Remediation Trial, which examines how cognitive remediation influences neurocognition, social cognition, and day-to-day functioning among people with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorders in community mental health settings.

Work Setting

The project will be carried out across five community-based psychiatric rehabilitation centres in Singapore. The appointed Research Assistant will coordinate with teams at these centres, perform outcome assessments, and handle research administration in line with governance requirements. The position also requires the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with staff at five psychiatric rehabilitation centres.
• Carry out study outcome assessments and measurements.
• Manage administrative tasks related to the research project.
• Follow all applicable research governance and compliance procedures.
• Work independently as needed to support day-to-day study operations.

Requirements

• A Bachelor with Honours degree in Psychology or Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
• Background in research related to mental health, especially cognitive remediation.
• Ability to organize research data and perform basic statistical analysis.
• Previous experience administering cognitive assessments.
