Sales Assistant / Driver

Role overview

Crown Paints is hiring a full-time Sales Assistant / Driver for its Newbridge store in County Kildare, Ireland. The position is based on a 39-hour working week and offers an annual salary of €28,696.20, along with a strong benefits package.

In this role, you will be at the center of the store experience, helping customers turn their decorating plans into reality, supporting local trade relationships, and making sure every customer leaves with a positive impression. The customer base includes DIY customers completing home projects, as well as professional decorators and builders who depend on the store for reliable service and product support.

Key duties

• Provide helpful and professional service to customers in person and by phone.
• Prepare paint by mixing and tinting it according to customer specifications.
• Operate the store van to complete local deliveries.
• Handle sales transactions and process payments through the point-of-sale system.
• Assist with stock management, incoming deliveries, and overall store presentation.
• Develop customer relationships and support the creation of new trade accounts.
• Identify possible new customers and maintain ongoing positive contact with them.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will bring a confident, approachable manner and be comfortable dealing with customers. Good communication skills are essential, and while retail or sales experience is useful, it is not mandatory. You should also work carefully, follow safe practices, and hold a full driving licence.

Working conditions

This is a practical, active position that includes manual handling of items typically weighing 5-10kg, periods of standing, and use of store equipment.
