The company takes career development seriously and aims to help team members accelerate their growth through its people, projects, and internal programs.
Role Overview
This senior analytics role is part of a mission-aligned team model, where analysts work closely with product managers, engineers, and designers to build deep expertise in a specific area of the business. The position offers ownership over complex analytical work and the chance to turn findings into practical improvements.
The focus of the role is on user and transaction-level data to improve authentication and payments flows, lower fraud and chargebacks, and strengthen the overall payments experience. The analyst will build and maintain monitoring dashboards, investigate suspicious activity, partner with stakeholders on payments logic and infrastructure, and ensure that insights are communicated clearly and that data remains reliable.
Team Environment
This position sits within an analytics and data science group that works in a highly data-driven way and uses modern tools such as Snowflake, dbt, and Amplitude. The team runs experiments frequently, develops intelligent systems, and supports strategic decisions through data. It is a good fit for someone who is proactive, curious, and excited to contribute in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Use large, complex datasets to uncover insights that shape payments and fraud strategies and improve business outcomes.
- Help define, test, and refine payment and fraud rules by setting goals, analyzing outcomes, running A/B tests, and tracking metric changes.
- Create and support dashboards and reporting tools that enable self-serve analytics across the business.
- Work with product, engineering, marketing, finance, and other teams to scope analytical work and deliver decision-ready insights.
- Examine unusual patterns and perform root-cause analysis for payment and fraud issues.
- Present findings in a clear, engaging way through reports, presentations, and data storytelling for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Encourage strong data quality, governance, and analytical best practices to keep data dependable, secure, and consistent.
- Guide and support junior analysts and interns, contributing to the growth of the broader analytics community.
- Join recurring payments meetings, sprint planning, and incident-response discussions to stay aligned on priorities.
- Independently surface high-value business problems and develop data-led solutions.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in data or analytics roles.
- Strong command of SQL and Python, including production-quality queries, data models, and analysis workflows.
- Hands-on experience with modern data warehouses and transformation tools such as Snowflake and dbt.
- Working knowledge of BI and dashboarding platforms such as Looker, Amplitude, or Tableau.
- Ability to take ambiguous problems from initial scoping through metric definition, data validation, and iterative improvement.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex analysis for varied audiences.
- Experience working cross-functionally, balancing competing needs, and aligning stakeholders on priorities and trade-offs.
- Strong sense of ownership and comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Experience handling messy, event-level product data across mobile and web, including user journey analysis and debugging data issues with engineers.
Benefits and Perks
- Remote-first setup with flexibility to work from anywhere in the world on your preferred schedule.
- Unlimited paid time off, company-wide recharge days, and annual team offsites.
- Weekly UberEats credits and travel discounts.
- Family-oriented benefits, including generous parental leave and flexible return-to-work options.
- Competitive compensation with equity, annual bonuses, retirement matching, and comprehensive benefits.
