About the opportunity
WSP is seeking a Senior Planner to join its planning team in Hamilton or Auckland, New Zealand. The role sits within a collaborative group of planners, advisors, and technical specialists who support a broad range of clients with development proposals across the full planning lifecycle.

What the role involves
- Providing technical planning advice and support for development proposals from early strategy and policy work through to consenting and post-consent monitoring.

- Contributing to a growing planning practice that values commercial thinking, relationship building, and practical problem-solving.
Candidate profile
- You have a relevant tertiary qualification in a related discipline.
- You bring solid technical capability and a genuine interest in delivering wider benefits for communities.
- You have ideally at least 7 years of experience in planning or a related field, particularly within infrastructure development.
- You take a commercially minded approach to planning and development.
- You enjoy working in a team that is expanding and evolving.
- You are collaborative, solution-oriented, and comfortable building strong working relationships.
- You demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
