Job summary

This role is focused on running sewing equipment and rollers to help feed the coater j-boxes. It is a first-shift position and involves handling turf rolls, checking quality details, and keeping production moving safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Use a computer system to scan roll labels into the JIP program.
• Confirm the coating type and the weight of each greige roll before sewing it in.
• Apply the correct color sticker to rolls when needed.
• Operate the console to unroll greige rolls.
• Stitch turf tails together.
• Check seam alignment and condition before sending the turf to the j-box.
• Feed turf into the j-box and keep the j-box level within the proper range.
• Coordinate with console operators about line speed and product changes.
• Carry out autonomous maintenance tasks as needed.
• Follow company policies, safety rules, and applicable industry standards to support a safe, efficient workplace.

Qualifications and requirements

• Must be able to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across units of measure.
• Should be able to solve practical, day-to-day problems.
• Must be comfortable reading and interpreting documents such as SOPs and Safety Data Sheets.
• Need to communicate clearly with leads and supervisors.
• Basic computer knowledge is required, including use of the internet and spreadsheets.
