Job Summary

The Store Officer assists the Head of Store in handling everyday inventory activities. The position ensures that transactions are entered into SAP without delay, keeps track of consumables and spare parts, and helps maintain the documentation needed for audits and operational controls. It also supports reliable records, contributes to cement production goals, and helps keep the movement of materials from operations to dispatch running efficiently.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Inventory Management

  • Accept, examine, and confirm that incoming goods, spare parts, and supplies match the relevant purchase orders and technical specifications.
  • Update bin cards each day, maintain stock at healthy levels, and watch inventory movement to prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Store, handle, and preserve materials correctly so they do not get damaged or lost.
  • Release materials only to approved departments and only against sanctioned requisitions.

SAP Transactions and Documentation

  • Record goods receipt notes, production quantities, and the issue of consumables and spare parts in SAP immediately, and in any case within 24 hours.
  • Keep stock movement records accurate and maintain proper reconciliation documents.

Compliance and Audit Support

  • Help prepare records and reports for both internal and external audits.
  • Escalate any stock variances quickly to the Head of Store and support follow-up corrective measures.
  • Carry out periodic physical stock checks and cycle counts, then reconcile any differences found.

Fuel and Logistics Monitoring

  • Log daily AGO issues and consumption, making sure the records match operational reports.
  • Work with procurement, finance, and user teams to keep materials flowing smoothly.
  • Follow company procedures, safety rules, and all applicable regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, in supply chain, procurement, business administration, accounting, or a similar discipline.
  • At least 4 years of experience in inventory control or store operations, with SAP exposure preferred.
  • Working knowledge of cement operations will be an added advantage.
  • Strong familiarity with SAP transaction entry.
  • Proven experience in inventory tracking and reconciliation.
  • Background in audit support and compliance-related work.
  • Experience tracking fuel and consumable usage.
  • Good communication and cross-functional coordination abilities.
