The role also involves close coordination with teams across engineering and data science to shape next-generation research tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Build, test, and refine research engineering solutions that improve AI model quality and scalability.
• Tune existing research workflows to make computation more efficient and reduce delay in distributed environments.
• Work with data science and engineering partners to move research outcomes into production-ready systems.
• Measure system performance, identify bottlenecks, and use findings to guide architecture choices.
• Create clear documentation for research methods, experiment outcomes, and technical details for internal use.

Skills and qualifications

• Strong programming ability in Python, C++, or Rust, especially for performance-focused development and algorithm work.
• Hands-on experience with distributed processing tools such as Apache Spark, Dask, or Ray.
• Working knowledge of machine learning systems, including model tuning and faster inference techniques.
• Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, along with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of linear algebra, optimization methods, and scientific computing libraries like NumPy and SciPy.
• Ability to write code that is clean, maintainable, and well documented for both research and production contexts.
• Experience using Git and collaborating through standard software development workflows.
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis for scalable system design.
