Utility Cleaner

Role overview

This full-time, non-management Utility Cleaner position supports key hotel operations across areas such as the kitchen, food and beverage service, and laundry. The role focuses on keeping workspaces clean and efficient by handling tasks like preparing clean linen and spotless dining ware, running and caring for cleaning machinery, and moving dishes or linens throughout the property as needed.

Core duties

• Assist different hotel departments with their cleaning and support requirements.
• Prepare clean linen for use and ensure dining ware is clean and ready for guests.
• Use and maintain cleaning tools and equipment, including dishwashers, hand wash stations, and laundry machines.
• Move dishware and linens between areas of the hotel.
• Maintain safe work practices and follow established hotel policies and procedures.
• Keep personal presentation, uniform, and communication professional at all times.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments to help the team meet shared goals.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to a manager immediately.
• Carry out other reasonable tasks assigned by supervisors.

Work expectations

Success in this role depends on maintaining quality standards, supporting a safe workplace, building positive working relationships, and responding appropriately to concerns raised by coworkers. The job also requires physical activity such as lifting, moving, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, twisting, and standing or walking for long periods. The ability to handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance is required.

Preferred qualifications

No high school diploma or GED-equivalent is required. The employer does not ask for prior related work experience, supervisory experience, or any license or certification.
