About the company
Moove is a rapidly expanding mobility infrastructure business serving markets across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America. The company finances and provides vehicles to mobility platforms and is developing the foundational layer that future mobility solutions will rely on. Operating at scale and preparing for its next phase of growth, Moove is building an AI-native organisation from the ground up.
Role overview
As a Validation Trainer, you will own the capability, confidence, and readiness of the validation driver team. Your focus will be to build and run training programmes that enable drivers to operate autonomous vehicles safely on public roads, complete test missions accurately, and react appropriately in safety-critical situations. This position sits within validation operations and involves substantial time in the field supporting drivers directly.
Key duties
You will design and deliver onboarding, certification, and recertification training for validation drivers, while keeping all learning content aligned with operational changes, engineering updates, and partner expectations. The role also includes close collaboration with engineering, operations, training, and safety stakeholders to maintain current, practical training materials and improve driver performance over time.
Training design and delivery
- Help create and run training programmes for validation drivers covering vehicle operation, autonomous vehicle monitoring, disengagement procedures, data capture, and SOP adherence.
- Build a structured onboarding journey for new drivers that combines classroom learning, simulator practice, and on-road instruction.
- Conduct refresher and recertification sessions in line with system changes, new routes, and updated partner requirements.
- Prepare and keep updated training assets such as SOP documents, evaluation templates, route references, and tutorials for onboard tools.
On-road and field training
- Ride along with drivers on live routes to evaluate driving quality, awareness, and compliance with procedures in real operating conditions.
- Offer immediate coaching and detailed feedback after sessions to support skill development.
- Support certification assessments and maintain accurate records of each driver’s certification status.
- Assist the Validation Team Lead with onboarding new team members and judging whether they are ready to work independently.
Performance improvement
- Review driver performance data and audit outcomes to spot repeated gaps or improvement areas.
- Use Kaizen-based continuous improvement methods to strengthen training content, delivery, and assessment standards, then recommend updates to the Training Manager for approval.
- Work with the Training Manager and AV Safety Manager to ensure safety requirements are built into every training activity.
- Refresh materials quickly whenever software is released, routes change, or SOPs are revised.
Compliance and record keeping
- Maintain complete, audit-ready records for all validation driver training and certification activity.
- Ensure training programmes satisfy Moove AV, partner, and RTA qualification standards.
- Escalate any driver performance or compliance issues to the Validation Team Lead and Training Manager.
Experience and qualifications
The ideal candidate has 3 to 5 years of experience in AV testing, professional driving, or a similar operational role. Experience in training, coaching, or mentoring is strongly preferred. A solid understanding of AV validation work, disengagement procedures, and data logging is essential, along with the ability to teach effectively in both classroom and live road environments. Strong observation and feedback skills, a composed safety-first mindset, and the ability to perform under pressure are important.
Licensing, language, and education
A valid UAE driving licence with a clean record and at least 3 years of driving experience is required. English fluency is essential, and Arabic is considered a strong advantage. A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field, is preferred. Equivalent technical qualifications combined with relevant AV or automotive experience may also be considered.
Success measures
- All validation drivers are certified and ready before they begin independent operations.
- Recertification is completed on time without any compliance gaps.
- Driver disengagement quality and data logging accuracy improve steadily.
- Training content stays current and aligned with live operational needs.
Team and reporting line
You will report to the Fleet Operations Manager and work closely with the Training & Development Team. The wider team is described as collaborative, positive, curious, and engaged, with a fast-paced working style and a strong focus on mission-driven impact.
