Warehouse Operator

Role overview

This is a fixed-term, site-based warehouse operations position in Cologne, Germany, focused on keeping materials and inventory moving efficiently through a busy redistribution center. The work centers on day-to-day warehouse activity, order handling, and supporting smooth logistics for customers and internal operations.

The environment is fast paced and requires strong attention to detail, a safety-first approach, and the ability to work effectively both on your own and with others. Prior hands-on experience in warehouse work, forklift operation, and stock control will be valuable in this role.

In this position, you will help ensure goods are received, stored, issued, and transported safely and correctly while following internal procedures and applicable legal and safety standards. The job offers exposure to operational logistics within a well-organized warehouse setting.

Core duties

• Track inventory activities, including receiving, storing, and releasing goods.
• Move, sort, and prepare materials using warehouse handling equipment.
• Act as the local contact for customers and support order processing on site.
• Record warehouse transactions and maintain documentation in standard software tools.
• Inspect returned items to confirm quality and regulatory compliance.
• Work in line with all health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures.

Candidate profile

The employer is looking for someone with vocational training in warehousing, logistics, or a related technical trade. A valid forklift licence and practical experience with warehouse equipment are required. The work involves physical activity and may take place in all weather conditions, so comfort with hands-on outdoor or indoor labour is important.

The right person will be dependable, accountable, and able to operate independently while also contributing well within a team. Experience using inventory systems or SAP would be a plus.
