Aircraft Interior Painter / Prepper

Role Overview

The hiring company is looking for an Aircraft Interior Painter / Prepper to join its Dubai aviation maintenance team. This position reports to the Paint Workshop Manager and focuses on preparing, coating, masking, finishing, and inspecting aircraft interior surfaces while meeting strict aviation quality and safety requirements.

This opportunity suits someone with practical experience in aircraft painting, prep work, auto body repair and finishing, and composite surface work. The role also requires comfort working from engineering drawings and maintaining strong control over safety, quality, and foreign object debris prevention.

Key Duties

• Have all required parts, tools, materials, equipment, and paperwork ready at the beginning of each shift.
• Complete paint preparation work to a high standard.
• Read and use the most recent revision drawings correctly.
• Carry out masking tasks accurately and according to procedure.
• Apply epoxy primers and filler primers where needed.
• Use work instruction sheets to apply basecoats and topcoats.
• Measure paint thickness using both wet and dry methods.
• Check adhesion and document the necessary results.
• Follow company rules, health and safety requirements, and airport procedures at all times.
• Keep the work area free from foreign object debris.
• Leave the workspace clean before and after each task.
• Deal with customers in a professional and respectful way.
• Stay current with technical notices, quality notices, and other relevant technical updates.
• Take part in training programmes that improve capability and job performance.
• Ensure every task is completed safely and in line with company procedures and quality expectations.
• Work in accordance with the Safety & Quality Management Plan and support safety initiatives in the workplace.
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean, serviceable, and safe.

Experience and Skill Requirements

• Solid background in auto body repair and painting, or equivalent training.
• Hands-on experience with fiberglass and composite filling and finishing methods.
• At least 2 years of aircraft painting and finishing experience.
• Previous work on both aircraft interior and exterior paint applications.
• Ability to understand engineering drawings and work from them accurately.
• Good listening skills and the ability to follow verbal instructions.
• Basic written and spoken English.
• Capable of handling daily work independently with limited supervision.
• Practical, proactive, and hands-on work style.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
