About the Role
In this position, coffee is treated as a key part of the guest journey — often the first interaction, the start of a conversation, and a daily ritual people value. The expectation is that every drink is made carefully, consistently, and with strong attention to detail.
As a Barista, you will help create memorable experiences through well-made beverages, authentic hospitality, and a high standard of service. From preparing a cappuccino to suggesting a preferred drink or greeting a returning guest by name, you will help shape the everyday guest experience.
Your Purpose
Your role is to deliver outstanding coffee and beverage service while maintaining a friendly, welcoming environment for every guest.
By combining technical ability, product knowledge, and genuine care, you will support the standards that define the brand and contribute to a culture focused on quality, teamwork, and respect.
Key Duties
- Make and serve coffee, teas, juices, and other beverages to a consistently high standard.
- Use recipes, preparation methods, and presentation guidelines accurately and carefully.
- Build strong knowledge of the beverage and food offerings, including ingredients, allergens, flavour profiles, and preparation methods.
- Respond confidently to guest questions and make helpful drink recommendations.
- Manage orders efficiently during busy service times without compromising quality.
- Check beverage quality and taste throughout service to maintain consistency.
- Track bean quality, grinder adjustments, and daily calibration to support ideal flavour extraction.
- Use, clean, and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing tools properly.
- Keep all coffee equipment in good working order and report any faults or maintenance needs quickly.
- Continue improving coffee knowledge and technical skill to support excellent beverage delivery.
- Prepare mise en place and maintain smooth station readiness for service.
- Keep counters, stations, equipment, and service areas clean, stocked, and well organised before, during, and after service.
- Assist with stock control and inventory management to reduce waste and ensure availability.
- Carry out preparation schedules and daily operational tasks according to brand expectations.
- Store and use ingredients correctly so they remain fresh and within shelf life.
- Work in close coordination with front-of-house and kitchen teams to support seamless service.
- Assist with onboarding and growth of new team members when needed.
- Help maintain a positive, respectful, and collaborative workplace.
- Represent the values, culture, and spirit of the brand in every guest and team interaction.
- Take part in daily briefings and active team communication.
- Maintain high standards of beverage preparation and visual presentation.
- Ensure each drink reflects the quality, consistency, and detail guests expect.
- Support the brand’s focus on beautiful food, striking environments, and engaging service.
- Build genuine guest connections through warmth, professionalism, and hospitality.
- Follow all local health, safety, and food-handling rules.
- Comply with HACCP procedures and company standards at all times.
- Keep workstations, tools, and utensils clean, sanitised, and properly maintained.
- Handle food items, beverages, and cleaning materials safely and responsibly.
- Maintain a neat, hygienic, and organised work area throughout every shift.
