Bookkeeper

Role Overview

Belmond Safaris is seeking a Bookkeeper to handle core day-to-day finance activities and keep the books accurate and up to date. The role involves managing records for purchases, sales, receipts, and payments while contributing to the wider finance function. This position is suited to someone who wants to grow their accounting capability within a luxury hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Check and balance account records, process overseas payments and refunds, and keep invoice and receipt documentation current.
• Enter bank activity into the cash book each day and complete monthly bank account reconciliations.
• Track unapplied deposits and maintain the listing for the reservations team to use.
• Go through night audit reports and flag any differences or irregularities that need attention.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of accounting concepts and standard bookkeeping practices.
• Prior experience in bookkeeping or a comparable finance role, ideally within hospitality.
• Strong accuracy and careful attention to detail when handling data and financial records.
• High standards of integrity, with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
