Job Summary

This position is responsible for carrying out routine and preventive upkeep, along with repair-related tasks, across buildings, mechanical equipment, and utility systems.

Primary Duties

• Maintain cleanliness throughout the assigned area at the site.
• Brush and mop hard floors, vacuum carpeting, and remove dust from surfaces.
• Clear waste from all trash bins and biohazard containers.
• Sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies such as tissue, paper towels, hand soap, and hand sanitizer.
• Disinfect countertops, appliance exteriors such as refrigerators and microwaves, and furniture surfaces.
• Clean glass on entry and exit doors as well as interior glass when required.
• Wipe and polish stainless surfaces in restrooms, including kick plates, sinks, water fountains, and door hardware.
• Sweep entry and exit areas, including porches and sidewalks.
• Keep MSDS documentation up to date for all chemicals, follow all Environment of Care standards, and report safety or quality concerns to a supervisor right away.
• Each month, help prepare VCT flooring for buffing.
• Twice a year, strip and wax or scrub and recoat VCT floors as needed, applying four coats of high-solids wax, and clean all interior and exterior windows in the building.
• Once a year, strip and wax or scrub and recoat VCT flooring as needed and clean all windows.
• Take part in staff meetings, trainings, webinars, and seminars as needed.

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED is required. The role calls for the ability to read and understand simple instructions, short letters, and memos. Candidates should be comfortable with basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Strong common-sense judgment is needed to follow written or spoken directions. A valid Louisiana driver's license is required.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

The job involves frequent standing, walking, use of hands and arms, reaching, climbing or balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and speaking or hearing. The role includes exposure to general cleaning products, and the noise level is typically moderate.

Compensation

Pay ranges from $13 to $20 per hour.
