Dispatch Operator

Role overview

JFC is looking for a Dispatch Operator to join its dispatch function in Tuam, County Galway. The position supports the timely and safe preparation of products for dispatch, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. This role reports to the Transport and Logistics Manager and is guided by the company's core values: People First, Innovation Inspired, Growth Focused, Performance Powered, Quality Driven, and Safety Always.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare trailers for loading by using loading sheets and completing the task efficiently and accurately.
• Select products and arrange or wrap them onto pallets for dispatch.
• Work effectively as part of the dispatch team while also being comfortable handling tasks independently.
• Complete all related loading records and paperwork with accuracy.
• Spot and report health and safety risks, and carry out recommended corrective actions where required.
• Follow all general health and safety rules and procedures without exception.
• Ensure that only cargo suitable and safe for transport is loaded correctly.
• Maintain required 5S standards in the dispatch building and yard, and take corrective steps when directed.
• Escalate any product quality concerns to the manager.
• Contribute in a cross-functional team environment.
• Assist with assembling and cleaning products for shows.
• Use personal initiative to decide the best approach and methods for routine work.
• Handle any other day-to-day dispatch tasks assigned by management.

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate should bring strong communication and professionalism, along with a practical, proactive approach to work. Attention to detail, organisation, prioritisation, and planning are essential, as is a strong commitment to safety, quality, and 5S standards. Customer focus is also important. A forklift truck certificate would be an advantage. A Leaving Certificate or equivalent is the minimum educational requirement, and a technical certificate or similar qualification is preferred. Previous experience in a similar role for 2+ years is desirable, though not essential.
