SOKONI AFRICA LTD (SAL) is a multi-sector business with activities in hospitality and real estate. Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site driving position in Kampala. The selected candidate will be responsible for moving goods, supplies, and, at times, guests between SAL locations and other assigned destinations, while ensuring safe and punctual transportation.

Key Duties

• Operate company trucks and other vehicles for scheduled transport tasks.
• Deliver supplies, goods, and occasional passengers safely and on time.
• Carry out routine pre-trip and basic vehicle condition checks.
• Keep assigned vehicles clean, organized, and ready for use.
• Follow all traffic laws, road safety requirements, and company driving standards.
• Work with supervisors and colleagues to organize routes and movement plans.
• Load and unload items as part of transportation assignments.
• Complete delivery records and related paperwork where needed.
• Communicate professionally with guests, customers, and partners while representing the company well.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to drive trucks and other commercial vehicles.
• Valid CDL Class A or an equivalent heavy-vehicle driving license, with a clean driving history.
• Good spoken communication and customer service ability.
• Knowledge of Kampala routes and compliance with traffic and road safety rules.
• Capability to conduct basic vehicle inspections and flag maintenance issues early.
• Dependable, punctual, and available for flexible schedules, including weekends and evenings when necessary.
• Prior exposure to hospitality, logistics, or commercial transport will be an advantage.
• At least a secondary school education or an equivalent qualification; extra driver safety training is beneficial.

This role may require flexible working hours, including weekends and evenings, depending on operational needs.
