Role Overview

Euphoria Group is seeking an Event Operations Manager to join its fast-moving events team on a fixed-term, full-time basis of 40 hours per week. The position is based in Tauranga, New Zealand, with the option to work remotely from within New Zealand. This role reports directly to the Director.

About the Company

Established in 2023, Euphoria Group (EMG) is an event management and production agency delivering practical and efficient solutions across music, live entertainment, sport, and mass participation events. The team brings together more than 26 years of combined experience across the New Zealand, Australian, and UK event sectors, with a track record of more than 300 events delivered. Their expertise covers event development, stakeholder coordination, site operations, procurement, and event command and control.

The business is looking for a highly committed and motivated professional who already has substantial experience in live events, can perform well in a busy environment, and consistently works to a very high standard.

Job Summary

This position is suited to someone who can plan, organise, and deliver projects within agreed budget, scope, and timelines while keeping stakeholders informed with clear progress updates. The role is highly practical and on-site focused, requiring strong commitment to successful event delivery and support for the Director and/or Client in managing a diverse workforce.

The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring assigned projects meet key milestones on time and within budget. Strong document and schedule preparation skills are essential, ideally using Google Workspace, along with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Working Pattern and Availability

Weekend work is required during the summer season. The successful candidate must also be available during the following event delivery windows:

  • 10 December 2026 to 10 February 2027
  • 1 April 2027 to 20 April 2027

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Directors to oversee delivery and management of assigned projects.
  • Monitor project progress at a general level and flag any risks or shortfalls to the Director.
  • Coordinate indoor and outdoor events, using task management and milestone tracking to keep delivery on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with event, site, technical production, creative, course management, ticketing, marketing, and other departments to strengthen operations, improve safety, and reduce client and company risk.
  • Establish project schedules and track deliverables throughout each assignment.
  • Take full ownership of key Event Management Plans for each allocated event.
  • Carry out logistical planning and develop new systems or procedures where needed.
  • Manage contractors and suppliers to ensure events are properly resourced.
  • Implement strong operational and site procedures.
  • Ensure site and operational procedures are consistently followed and lead by example.
  • Promote high standards and best practices across planning and delivery.
  • Stay informed about innovative technologies, systems, and ways of working that could improve the company’s service offering.
  • Keep relevant stakeholders and team members updated on project status.
  • Coach and support team members on the tasks assigned to them.
  • Arrange planning meetings with internal teams, external operators, and key stakeholders.
  • Carry out any other duties appropriate to the role.

Personal Attributes

The company is looking for someone with strong communication skills, the confidence to work with stakeholders at all levels, the ability to lead a team, and a solid client-facing approach. The role also calls for excellent scheduling ability, strong administration and IT capability, good multitasking skills, initiative, and well-developed verbal, written, and organisational strengths.

Knowledge and Experience

Applicants should have knowledge of the live events and mass participation events sector. Previous experience as an Operations Manager or Site Manager on live outdoor events is required, or the equivalent transferable experience.

Helpful but not essential experience includes working with Vectorworks or AutoCAD, using Google Workspace, using Asana or a similar project management platform, and holding a Class 1 vehicle licence.

Additional Information

This is a fixed-term, full-time role. The work pattern is 40 hours per week. The salary range is $70,000 to $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. The role is based in Tauranga, New Zealand, or can be performed remotely within New Zealand.
