General Maintenance Worker

About the role

Vertiv is looking for a dependable and adaptable General Maintenance Operative to help keep its Campsie site running smoothly. The position focuses on the everyday care of facilities and site infrastructure, supporting a safe, tidy, and fully operational environment for staff.

With a strong background in engineered power solutions and customer-focused technical services, Vertiv places high value on its people and teamwork across its manufacturing operations.

What you will do

• Handle a broad mix of basic maintenance work across the facility.
• Assist electricians with small-scale electrical tasks.
• Complete plumbing fixes such as leak repairs, tap replacements, and simple pipework.
• Carry out basic carpentry and joinery work, including doors, locks, fixtures, and fittings.
• Maintain offices, welfare spaces, production areas, car parks, walkways, fencing, painting, and other external areas.
• Support general building repairs and facilities upkeep.
• Help maintain EHS standards across both facility and production environments.
• Respond quickly to routine maintenance requests and close them out in a timely way.
• Identify basic faults and raise specialist issues when needed.
• Inspect buildings and facilities regularly to catch problems early.
• Perform simple preventive maintenance tasks to reduce repeat repairs.
• Record, report, and track defects, damage, and safety concerns.
• Take on other reasonable duties as needed to support business goals.

What we are looking for

• Prior experience in maintenance, handyman, or facilities support work.
• Working knowledge of plumbing and general building maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting and practical problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication and the ability to work well with others.
• Good planning skills and the ability to manage several tasks at once.
• Strong attention to detail with a safety-first mindset.
• A flexible, adaptable approach to day-to-day work.
• Hands-on ability across more than one trade is an advantage.
• Experience in industrial, commercial, or facilities settings is preferred.
• Any relevant trade qualifications or certifications would be beneficial.
