About the role
As an Industrial Process Engineer at Sunfire in Dresden, you will take ownership of industrial engineering value-creation processes and help keep them efficient, stable, and ready for scale. The role combines process development, documentation, production support, and technology ownership in a series-manufacturing environment.
What you will do
- Own the planning, further development, and long-term stabilization of value-creation processes within the Industrial Engineering function.
- Introduce new technologies and improve existing series-production processes with a focus on efficiency, quality, and process stability.
- Prepare and maintain key process records such as assembly sequences, work instructions, defect catalogues, rework concepts, test reports, process capability evidence, process specifications, risk assessments, and FMEAs.
- Support the rollout of new technologies and accompany first article approval with suppliers.
- Contribute actively to development projects, Value Stream Excellence initiatives, and line-optimization activities.
- Lead small and medium-sized projects as part of the change-request management process.
- Act as technology owner for at least four manufacturing technologies from standard, core, or key processes.
- Take responsibility for at least one engineering method, such as DOE, REFA, Shainin, or Lean.
What you bring
- A bachelor’s degree, diploma from a university of applied sciences, or dual-study qualification; ideally in mechanical engineering, process engineering, or a related technical field.
- Alternatively, a technician or master craftsman qualification that provides an equivalent background.
- At least five years of professional experience in process engineering, ideally in plant engineering.
- Practical expertise in analysing and improving technical processes.
- Hands-on knowledge of process and quality improvement methods such as Pareto analysis, basic FMEA, DFMA, Shainin, RedX, 5 Whys, and root-cause analysis.
- Familiarity with lean management and Six Sigma approaches.
- Strong project management capability and experience using statistical software to evaluate and improve processes sustainably.
- A learning mindset, careful and dependable working style, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Assertiveness, teamwork, and strong communication skills.
- A structured, proactive, and goal-oriented approach, along with a confident and reliable professional presence.
- Fluent German and business-level English at minimum C1 level.
