Intermediate Quantity Surveyor

Overview

An experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor is needed for a leading main building contractor in Ireland to support a prestigious hotel development in County Clare. The role sits within a strong, well-organised commercial team working on a notable project in the west of Ireland. You will receive guidance from senior commercial colleagues, while also taking on meaningful responsibility with a clear route to progress into a Senior QS position after the project concludes.

Requirements

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, along with a minimum of 4 years’ experience working with a main building contractor in Ireland or the UK.
• Prior exposure to hotel, hospitality, or large commercial developments would be an advantage.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills are essential.
• Good commercial judgement and a solid understanding of contractual matters are required.
• The ideal candidate should be driven, committed, and focused on delivering high-quality work.
• Applicants must already have permission to work in Ireland.

Role

• Support tender preparation, assess and appoint suitable subcontractors, agree subcontract packages, and manage subcontractor finances through to final account.
• Track and present forecasts, targets, reconciliations, site documentation, document control, variation updates, and valuations.
• Work closely with the site management team, contributing commercially while safeguarding the company’s contractual and financial position.
• Oversee Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors, including responsibility for their output and sign-off on measurements and SMM-related matters.

Salary and Package

• Annual salary range: €60,000 to €70,000 depending on experience.
