Junior Data Engineer

Role overview

This position focuses on supporting the creation, improvement, and upkeep of the data systems that enable analytics, reporting, and business intelligence across the organization. You will help build dependable data pipelines, work with a range of data sources, and contribute to the overall stability and usability of the data environment.

What you will do

• Help design, develop, and maintain the data infrastructure used for analytics and reporting.
• Create and improve pipelines that collect, transform, validate, and combine data from different systems.
• Work to keep data accurate, consistent, and dependable across platforms.
• Support the administration of databases, data warehouses, and cloud-based data platforms.
• Partner with data analysts, software engineers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Track data workflows, identify and fix technical issues, and automate repetitive tasks where possible.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and contribute to ongoing improvements in data architecture, performance, security, and governance.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with careful attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of SQL, database administration, data structures, and data processing concepts.
• Exposure to programming or scripting languages, cloud platforms, and data integration tools is a plus.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT workflows, data warehousing, data modeling, and data governance is helpful.
• Good communication and collaboration skills for working across technical and business teams.
• Ability to learn quickly, handle several priorities at once, and perform well in a fast-moving, data-focused environment.
