About the role
In this position, you will take ownership of a customer-facing network environment and help keep the company’s IT backbone stable, secure, and performing well. The role is centered on network operations, with a strong focus on firewalls and security controls. You’ll work in a modern technology setting, collaborate closely with a team that values your input, and contribute to projects that have real impact.
What you will do
- Manage and support the central network infrastructure for customers, with a clear emphasis on firewalls and network security.
- Work hands-on with firewall platforms as well as WAN, LAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN environments.
- Ensure that the lifecycle requirements for security-critical hardware, including systems from Cisco and Fortinet, are consistently met.
- Review firewall logs, spot security weaknesses, and resolve issues efficiently and reliably.
- Serve as one of the main contact points for customers when network incidents occur.
- Handle firewall configuration, rule-set administration, and ongoing monitoring as part of your daily work.
- Contribute actively to internal IT initiatives and support the team with your network-security expertise.
What you should bring
- Solid hands-on experience in network administration, especially in the firewall area.
- Confidence working in larger network environments, particularly with MPLS and SD-WAN.
- A strong motivation to keep learning and developing professionally.
- An independent, well-structured working style combined with strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Fluency in German and good command of English.
