Network Technician

Role overview

This position sits within the IT team supporting a foundation environment in Dubai. The role combines network administration, end-user support, operational coordination, and assistance to the IT Director in maintaining a stable and effective technology environment for the building and day-to-day foundation operations.

Key duties

• Coordinate the annual IT network objectives with the IT Director and internal team members.
• Prepare technical service-level agreements for infrastructure and networking initiatives.
• Help ensure that quality targets established by DFWAC are achieved.
• Support the operational administration of the foundation.
• Assist the IT Director in delivering and maintaining the building’s IT environment.
• Provide first-line helpdesk assistance and resolve basic technical issues.
• Respond to users and facility occupants in a prompt, professional, and solution-oriented manner.
• Monitor network health, analyze performance, tune systems, troubleshoot issues, and escalate vendor-related problems when needed.
• Configure network switches and test or troubleshoot copper and fiber cabling.
• Understand and support data center redundancy needs.
• Contribute to smooth day-to-day IT operations.
• Track progress against key performance areas and work toward planned results.
• Support the IT Director in developing IT strategy, policies, standards, and plans.
• Ensure service to employee requests and inquiries is timely, respectful, and efficient.
• Collaborate with IT colleagues to identify training needs and recommend them to the Director.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in Computer Engineering or Information Technology is required.
• Applicants must have at least 8 years of experience in the IT field.
• At least 4 of those years should be in an IT support function.
