Role overview

This position is focused on managing and growing relationship-based banking for Government clients, including Central and State Government bodies as well as PSUs, at the ministry/secretariat level. Working under the guidance of the Team Leader, the role is responsible for building durable partnerships with stakeholders across ministries, committees, and autonomous organizations.

Key responsibilities

  • Bring in new government clients and oversee an assigned portfolio of Central and State PSU accounts.
  • Strengthen relationships with existing customers and protect long-term engagement.
  • Promote financial solutions and identify cross-sell opportunities across the client base.
  • Continuously look for ways to increase the wallet share from managed accounts.
  • Develop a solid understanding of all products offered to these customers.
  • Stay connected with operations teams to support smooth execution and delivery of transactions.
  • Support and execute marketing initiatives for the segment.
  • Help the Relationship Management Group with industry, client, and market research and analysis.
  • Draft credit approval and renewal notes, along with risk analysis reports for the client portfolio.
  • Translate customer needs into inputs for product teams and collaborate on product development to better meet client expectations.
  • Coordinate with financial markets, investment banking, and retail banking teams to create cross-selling synergies for government and PSU clients.
  • Oversee management of recoveries and NPAs within the assigned customer cluster.
  • Assess the capability and staffing levels needed to deliver services effectively.
