Role Overview
CareCone Group is seeking an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer for its Melbourne location. This role is centered on improving reliability, supporting contact centre platforms, and strengthening operational excellence across cloud and engineering environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the stability, availability, and performance of production systems.
- Support and optimize AWS Connect and the surrounding AWS ecosystem, including Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Work with contact centre platforms and functions such as IVR, ACD, CTI, call routing, and workforce management.
- Build and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Contribute to CI/CD automation using tools like GitHub Actions and Codefresh.
- Use JIRA, ServiceNow, and Qliksense as part of operational and support workflows.
- Implement and strengthen monitoring, alerting, and broader observability practices.
- Apply SRE concepts such as SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs in day-to-day reliability work.
- Participate in incident management and drive prompt troubleshooting and resolution.
- Work within Agile, Lean, and Continuous Delivery environments.
- Promote secure coding practices, compliance awareness, and strong engineering standards.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and take ownership of reliability outcomes.
Required Experience and Skills
- At least 5 years of experience working in a Site Reliability Engineer role.
- Practical, hands-on expertise with AWS Connect and related AWS services.
- Background in contact centre technologies and migration/support environments.
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and deployment automation.
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and incident handling processes.
- Understanding of DevOps practices, standards, and modern delivery approaches.
- Comfort working in fast-moving, agile settings with a proactive mindset.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and communication abilities.
