Store Delivery Driver

Role overview

This position is for a Store Delivery Driver based at B&Q Cribbs Causeway in Bristol. It is a full-time role of 36.75 hours per week on a permanent contract. Working hours are scheduled across Monday to Sunday, between 7:00am and 10:00pm. The role pays a UK notional hourly rate of £14.39, which includes a store-specific location allowance of £0.54 per hour.

As part of the store team, you will help make home improvement easier for customers by ensuring their orders are delivered safely, accurately, and on time. The role involves customer-facing work, driving a 3.5-ton vehicle, and supporting store operations when not out on delivery.

Main duties

You will complete multi-drop deliveries to customers’ homes, handling a wide range of products from small paint items to large flooring packs. The work includes heavy lifting and a strong focus on safe, efficient delivery. When you are not on the road, you will work on the shop floor using digital tools to help fulfil customer orders and assist colleagues where needed. Throughout the day, you will represent the B&Q brand and place customers first.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate is a clear communicator who can plan effectively, stay organised, and make sensible decisions in a busy environment. You should be comfortable simplifying tasks, working in a structured way, and supporting both customers and colleagues.

Driving and safety requirements

You need a full manual UK driving licence in Category B or B1, valid for driving vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. The licence must have been held for at least one year and must not have more than 6 points. Previous experience in multi-drop delivery is helpful, but it is not essential. You also need to be flexible enough to work shifts that may include weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.

Checks and compliance

If you are selected, your details will be verified through Experian and the DVLA. A DBS check will also be carried out. If anything does not match, it will be discussed with you directly.
