The University of Western Australia is seeking a Student Advisor to join a team focused on delivering an excellent student experience. This role offers the chance to contribute to outcomes that improve student success, retention, and progression.

Team and context

The Directorate of Student Success and Progression is part of UWA’s Education Portfolio and reports through the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Education and Student Experience. The directorate supports key parts of the student journey, including admissions, enrolments, fees, scholarships, timetabling, student advising, examinations, and graduation. It works in partnership with academic and professional leaders to provide student-focused services across the university.

The Student Offices team works closely with academic and professional staff to deliver integrated support that helps students succeed and progress through their studies.

What the role involves

This position is responsible for providing high-quality advisory and administrative support to students at different stages of their academic journey, from enrolment to graduation. You will help coordinate student management activities, work with internal stakeholders to improve systems, policies, and processes, and contribute to more efficient service delivery. A key part of the role is handling complex enquiries accurately and helping create a positive experience for students.

Employment details

• Base salary is between $83,212 and $92,231 per year.
• 17% superannuation is included on top of the base salary.
• Both full-time and part-time arrangements are available.
• Contract roles are also available.

What you need to bring

Applicants should have a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience, along with substantial administrative experience in a similar setting. You will need strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to explain information clearly, and confidence in handling complex questions. The role also calls for excellent organisation, the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines, and the judgement to work well both independently and as part of a team. A strong commitment to customer service and improving the student experience is essential.

Additional information
