Test Station Operator

Role overview

Elgas Limited is seeking a practical, reliable Test Station Operator in Christchurch, New Zealand. In this role, you will inspect, test, and re-certify LPG cylinders so they meet safety and compliance standards before being released back into service. You’ll work closely with the plant team in a busy, hands-on setting where efficiency, accuracy, and safety matter every day.

What you’ll be doing

• Working in an active, hands-on environment where tasks and priorities can change from day to day
• Collaborating with a supportive plant team to meet daily production goals
• Keeping tools, equipment, and the work area tidy, functional, and well maintained
• Performing safety and compliance inspections and escalating any concerns without delay
• Assisting in other parts of the plant whenever operational support is needed
• Helping ensure that only cylinders meeting safety and compliance requirements leave the site
• Contributing to a workplace culture built around safety, quality, and getting the work done properly
