Role Overview
The Aerospace Inspector will be responsible for checking aerostructures, systems, and components to confirm they comply with strict safety, regulatory, and quality expectations. This position sits within the Inspection Service Business Unit, where the focus is on inspection and assessment work related to aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out internal and external inspections to confirm that the required acceptance criteria under the relevant code, standard, or document are satisfied.
- Review and apply regulations, codes, and industry standards relevant to the assignment.
- Conduct non-destructive testing when required by the job.
- Look after assigned equipment and ensure it remains in proper working condition.
- Assess completed work, recommend corrective action where needed, approve repairs, and complete visual checks.
- Prepare thorough inspection reports and keep accurate records of all inspection activities.
- Produce daily updates, inspection documentation, and inter-office communication promptly.
- Build and maintain constructive working relationships with clients, facility teams, and colleagues.
- Support and coach junior inspectors through guidance and training.
- Complete all mandatory training and any associated tests according to company requirements.
- Prepare risk assessments before work begins and follow all safety policies and procedures without exception.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- At least 5 years of experience working as an Aerospace Inspector.
- Current certification in NAS 410 Level 2 MT and M10 is required, along with any two additional testing methods such as PT, ET, or UT.
- Strong attention to detail, along with solid communication and organisational abilities.
- Willingness to work shifts and weekends.
- Ability to develop good working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, complex, and multicultural environment.
