Role overview
EY is seeking an AI & Data Director to join its Ireland-based team and help clients turn information into measurable business value. The position sits within the EY AI & Data practice and supports work across assurance, consulting, law, strategy, tax, and transactions. The role is permanent and full-time, with opportunities to be based in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, or Galway.
In this leadership position, you will help shape client solutions that convert data into strategic assets, strengthen relationships, and contribute to business growth through high-profile engagements. The work calls for strong consulting experience, people leadership, and the ability to apply AI and data methods to real-world business and governance challenges.
Key responsibilities
You will guide teams and clients through AI and data engagements, bringing together domain experts to design and embed analytics-led solutions. The role also involves spotting risks early, managing delivery quality, and helping improve project efficiency while maintaining high standards.
As a director, you will be expected to coach junior team members, adapt your leadership approach to different people and situations, and contribute to a culture of learning and development. You will also support the team’s growth by building the EY brand, attending relevant events, creating thought leadership, and helping identify new service opportunities.
Experience and qualifications
Applicants need at least 7+ years of experience in AI & Data, along with a proven ability to turn complex datasets into clear and impactful visual stories. A completed bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree is required. The role also calls for relevant experience in consulting or industry, including substantial management responsibility.
Ideal candidates will be able to supervise and develop others, communicate effectively, manage budgets and client expectations, and deliver high-quality work on schedule. You should also be able to explain technical matters to non-technical audiences, learn quickly, and apply new techniques to solve problems and generate insights.
Technical focus
Experience across the AI & Data lifecycle is valued, especially in areas such as data strategy, data manipulation and ETL, data visualisation, and statistical analysis or predictive modelling for business issues.

The benefits package can include pension, maternity and paternity leave, discounted health insurance, bike to work scheme, free unlimited online GP consultations through Web Doctor, recognition awards, the option to buy extra annual leave, referral cash incentives, hybrid working, a work mobile, free gym membership, TECH MBA paid by EY, travel pass support, and wellness rooms in some offices.
